In 1971 the first “FAI DA TE” – the Italian name for do-it-yourself, from the French “bricolage” – was born in Turin, in the woodworking field. From then on, even people who were not professionals could build small furniture, shelves, frames and wall shelves out of wood themselves.
After 30 years of experience in joinery, the current owner of Brico Holz Service, through Scalia SRL, turned to the serial production of semi-finished products for “FAI DA TE” customers.
In the same period, SCALIA SRL developed useful wooden products for the home and for DIY enthusiasts (small stools, battens, trestles, small tables, crates and more).
In 1995 SCALIA SRL moved its production to Poland, and from 2000 to Romania.
In 2003 BRICO HOLZ SERVICE SRL was founded in Alba Iulia. Thanks to the creativity and experience gathered over 40 years, the company has developed many new products, including, in 2015, the solid fir door that can be hung on either side and the sliding fir door, for large retailers.
Today BRICO HOLZ SERVICE SRL has its own 6,000 m² production facilities, where 35 people work.
